P1856 Enfield Cavalry Carbine

A short percussion muzzle-loading carbine adopted by the British cavalry in 1856. Smooth-handling and compact, it had a 21-inch rifled barrel in .577 caliber, iron furniture, and a full walnut stock. Equipped with a bar and ring on the side for sling attachment to cavalry gear, it was essentially a shortened version of the Enfield rifle-musket, designed for mounted use.
