P1842 Land Pattern Pistol

The Pattern 1842 was a mid-19th century single-shot percussion service pistol adopted during the transition from flintlock to percussion ignition. These pistols were produced in several service variants (land/cavalry, sea service, officer/lancer versions) and were issued to British military and naval units in the 1840s–1850s era. They appear in museum collections and auction records under names such as “Pattern 1842”, “P-1842 Sea Service”, or “1842 lancer’s pistol.”
